About GrabDit
GrabDit is a small, independent team that builds simple web tools for saving media — starting with a free Reddit downloader that handles videos (with sound), images, and GIFs. We’re not affiliated with Reddit. We just think a tool like this should be fast, honest about what it can do, and respectful of your privacy.
What We Build
One tool, done properly: paste a public Reddit post link, get the media at the quality Reddit hosts. Videos download as a single MP4 with the audio merged in automatically — solving the silent-download problem that plagues most tools (we wrote up why it happens). Images come down at original resolution, GIFs exactly as Reddit serves them, and galleries item by item.
The Principles
Honest limits
If a post only offers 720p, that’s what you’ll see. If a video is genuinely silent, we won’t pretend otherwise. We document what the tool can’t do as clearly as what it can.
Privacy by default
No accounts, no tracking of what you download, no logs of your files. Downloads go straight to your device.
No dark patterns
No fake download buttons, no forced apps or extensions, no watermarks, no “premium” gates on basic features.
Respect for creators
GrabDit works on public posts only, never bypasses private or paywalled content, and we act on valid takedown requests — see our contact page.
How GrabDit Works (in One Paragraph)
When you paste a link, GrabDit resolves the post through Reddit’s public data, finds the media Reddit hosts (i.redd.it for images, v.redd.it for video), and presents the available files and qualities. For video, it fetches the separate video and audio streams and merges them server-side into one MP4 before handing it to your browser. Nothing is stored: the file passes through to you and that’s the end of it.
